JUNIOR COMPETITION

Junior competition is played on Saturday mornings (not in school holidays).

Home matches are played at Langwarrin Tennis Club or at Elisabeth Murdoch College. Parents are asked to take a turn on Canteen Duty at LTC.  This is required only once per child per season. Away venues are within a twenty mkinute drive.

It’s most important that all players are reliable.  If just one player does not arrive on time, it affects seven other players (the LTC team and the opposition), and it reflects on the club.  It is good etiquette for players to stay until all their team has finished playing.

You must be a registered club member to play in this inter club competition. A year’s membership fee covers 2 seasons. Ball fees are incorporated in membership fees, and there are no other charges.

Teams require 4 players per week.  Most teams have 5 players, so each one takes a turn at sitting out.  There are 2 seasons each year, Summer & Winter, with 14 matches per season, plus finals.

Correct tennis attire must be worn, including tennis shoes which won’t mark the courts. (Clothing such as board shorts and surf gear are not acceptable).

Junior teams are rostered to take turns helping with light clean up duties.

Tennis lessons are available from our professional coach at a moderate cost.
