August 2010

Congratulations and good luck to our Saturday teams who made the finals. We have five Senior teams, five Girls and three Boys, including the top two sections in both Girls and Boys.

There has been a terrific response to the Club Championships, with matches starting on Sunday. Good luck to all, and please be sure to be on time for your matches.

The Hot August Night was thoroughly enjoyed by all, and it was terrific to have John Wells performing. It was his last gig for a while, and we wish John all the best with his treatment

July 2010

At the AGM, the meeting endorsed the committee recommendation that there be no change to fees for next year (commencing October 1st). Adrian Moore was appointed Saturday Seniors Coordinator, taking over from Dave Greer. Many thanks Adrian, and well done Dave for a terrific contribution.

Tuesday night tennis starts again on 20th, while Wednesdays and Thursdays will begin the first week of August.

This year our Hot August Night is on Saturday August 21st at the Langy Hall, from 7:30 pm. Round up your friends and put a table together - it's sure to be a great night. Only $25 ph, byo drinks and nibbles. See Robyn, Lynda or Lorene for tickets.

You can see our latest newsletter here.

June 2010

Congratulations to our Section 2 MWL team - Lorene, Tracey, Bev, Dianne & Maria - who were runners-up. They werre our only MWL ream to make finals.

Congratulations to our night tennis winners:

Monday Ladies: Sets in the City (Kirsten, Marie, Ruth & Sharon) were too stylish for Kiss my Ace

Tuesday Men:A-Rods (Jamie, Will, Ian, Steve & Darryl) beat Ballistic in extra time

Wednesday Mixed: Bugs Bunnies (Ian, Jack, Fiona & Lisa) brought their Acme game to beat Road Runners

Thursday Mixed: Team 2 (Di, Rachael, Richard, Mark & Mick) won over Team 4.

There are a couple of "new" faces as night tennis coordinators - thanks to Marie, Libby and Ian for taking on the job. Monday Ladies will start on July 12th.

May 2010

At the Special General Meeting on 21st May, the members voted in favour of progressing the project to resurface courts 4 - 6, replace the lights and fences, and upgrade the drainage. It is the Committee's intention to seek financial assistance from Frankston Council rather than borrow the shortfall; however, the earliest that this would become available is in the 2011/2012 financial year, so the project is "on hold" until then.

With the night tennis season almost finished, it's time to think about playing in the Spring season which will start in early August for most nights. Click on Competitions above for the contact numbers of the organisers.

Don't forget the working bee on Sunday 30th - an hour or two of your time makes a big difference.

April 2010

Please note the change to the starting date for the Winter Saturday season (for both Seniors and Juniors). The PTA have introduced the changes so that Grand Finals for all sections can be played on the same day.

Also please note that a Special General Meeting has been scheduled for Friday 21st May, where the Committee will be seeking member approval to progress the upgrade project for courts 4, 5 & 6.

The April newsletter has been published, and there is a link at the bottom of the page to view it on line.
