Congratulations to the boys pictured below for their recent achievements in tennis with Elisabeth Murdoch College. They reached the the Southern Zone Championships for the Victorian Secondary Schools Sports Association for Intermediate Boys tennis for EMC and became the champions. They then went on to play at State Championships at Boroondara Tennis Centre at Nth. Balwyn. Unfortunately they were not the State Champions but to be state finalists was a massive achievement.

State Finalists (LtoR): Dylan Hebblethwaite, Michael Robertson, Josh Lombardo, Jayden Cox and Simon Lombardo.

Well done to our Junior Girls 3 and Junior Boys 8 for their Grand Final wins. Our other finalists all performed very well and only lost narrowly.

In the Seniors, Mens Doubles 1 were our flag winners - congratulations. Mixed Sections 3 and 8 both made the Grand Final, but unfortunately had to settle for second place.

Note that Frankston Tennis Club will be using six of our courts on the Tuesday and Wednesday after Easter for their Junior Masters tournament.

Congratulations and good luck to our teams who have made the Grand Final - Junior Girls Pennant and Sec 3, Boys Pennant and Secs 3, 6, 7 & 8 where two Langy teams will battle it out. In the Seniors, Sec 1 Mens Doubles and Sec 3 Mixed are through to the Grand Final, while Sec 8 Mixed can get there by winning their prelim final this week.

It's great to have the new car park in operation. We have written to thank the Council.

The Club has donated $500 to the Bushfire Relief Fund, through Myer stores who will match the donation dollar for dollar. Also, Kerry Gardeniers is collecting unwanted tools for distribution in the Buxton area, so please contact Kerry if you can help.

You can now see pictures of some of our 2008 Club Champions here.

The night tennis competitions have all started, but we can always use extra emergencies. You can register your availability by contacting the organiser - click on Competitions above and follow the Night Tennis link.

It's back to tennis now after the holiday break, with a sweltering start to the competition year. Already we need to prepare for the Winter Saturday seasons, and you can download Junior and Senior entry forms. Be sure to submit them by the due date, to enable the teams to be selected and forwarded to the PTA for grading.

Frankston Council is upgrading our car park, so until it is done (March?) please park up near the oval.
